Aryabhatta satellite launced on april 19, 1975 was India’s first satellite which was named after the well known Indian mathematician and astronomer Aryabhata.
The satellite was complete desinged by ISRO and launced from a soviet site in Russia.
The satellite had now officially completed its 50th years in space in April 2025. The development of this satellite mark a curicial step in the development of India’s sapce program.

Government of India – Budget Allocation
The GOI allocated Rs 13,416.2 crore to the department of space in the 2025 – 26 Budget.
The budget also includes promissions for a long term space vision aiming to successfully land India on the moon by 2040 as well as a dedicated space station by 2035.
